Several families in a north St. Louis neighborhood have grown frustrated as they wait for a large sinkhole to be fixed after the street collapsed.
Residents are not happy because now two holes have formed and calls to the city have gone unanswered and told it’s not their responsibility but Metropolitan Sewer District.
The sinkholes are right where a sewer line is located and the broken main sewer line is washing aware the underground dirt, causing an alley to cave in. These issues are causing more in regards to sewage backups in resident’s homes.
Come to find out, the road collapse was the result of a lateral line failure. The sewer district will make the repairs even though this is a lateral line break, which typically homeowners are responsible for those repairs.
